This work has been with the Columbus Division of Police, in what they call the Reserve Police organization.
Almost all of the work done as a reserve officer is unpaid. The training requirements are the same as for a regular police officer, including several months of time in the police academy in the beginning. When a reserve officer is on duty, your responsibilities and police powers are the same as a regular officer. The primary difference is that a regular officer is on duty 24 hours a day and a reserve officer is not.
